G.L.I.C. - Gruppo Librerie Internazionali Commissionarie (International Import - Export Booksellers Group) was set up in 1985, have their own Regulation and operate within ALI - Confcommercio (the Italian Booksellers Association) with respect to ALI's Statute.

Many Italian import-export companies of Italian and foreign books and magazines are members of G.L.I.C.; one of the most important features in order to be accepted in the Group is the fact that the companies must have been working in this field at least for three years and get an income about
import-export not less than 50% of the whole business.
G.L.I.C. operate so as to develop any sort of cooperation among its members, support their work, supply them with services of any kind (both G.L.I.C.'s own services and ALI's) and give legal advice, fiscal/tax advice, financial advice and so on. They also provide universities, research centres, local authorities with all the books and magazines needed for their activities; as well as this the Group is always trying to find good delivery conditions with international couriers.

who meet at least twice a year, and the Board, formed by four members including the President who meet more frequently to discuss any problem arising.
The President and the Members of the Board are in office for four years and can be re-elected for one more four year turn; after that time an election is held so as to appoint a new President and new Members of the Board. The next election will take place in the year 2012.
